>How do you work?
● Reading the receipts...
Curious — First question is always "why do we do it this way?" Second is usually "can we not?"
Born with the gene — The "how hard can it be" gene, specifically. If I don't know how to do something yet, that's just Tuesday — I ramp fast and figure it out.
Leads with empathy — People are usually doing their best with a broken process. I assume good intent first, always.
"Yes, and" — I treat work like improv — always looking for the "yes, and," not the reason it won't work. I'd rather try five scrappy things and see what sticks; failing just means I learned something before you had to.
Allergic to extra steps — If a process has more than five steps, I'm already redesigning it in my head. I promise I'm listening too.
Knows the room — I can tell you exactly who needs to be looped in, who doesn't, and who just wants the recap after.
Doesn't gatekeep — I'd rather teach you the fix than be the only one who can do it. When one of us shines, we all shine — job security by indispensability isn't the move.
Craft — I sweat the details nobody asked for. The last 10% is the part people remember.
